Sometimes there’s no way for a couple to reconcile their differences… Sometimes each others’ needs are so incompatible the relationship no longer functions, even in the presence of love.

When you realize this, you have two options:

1) Take an adversarial stance, point fingers of blame, make each other miserable, and fight over the ruins while you dismantle the relationship.

2) Acknowledge nobody is to blame for a bad fit, understand that people sometimes grow in different directions, and work toward an amicable separation
that allows you to redefine your relationship and possibly stay in each others’ lives.
